At the general meeting on the eve of the Game Designers Convention in Göttingen, the previous board of SAZ was re-elected. Hartmut Kommerell remains chairman, Markus Hagenauer and Stefan Kloß remain deputy chairmen. This will ensure continuity over the next two years. The discussion focused on the recruitment of new members and the further steps to enforce the legal claim to library royalties by including games in the collection catalogue of the German National Library.

With approx. 350 participants – including approx. 170 game authors and 80 publishing house representatives – the Game Designers Conventionat the new LOKHALLE location was a complete success. The large, clearly arranged hall provided a great setting for the event and ensured a pleasant and communicative atmosphere. On Saturday, Wieland Herold was honoured by the City of Göttingen with the Göttinger Spatz for his services to the cultural assets of the game. On Sunday, Michael Modler from Ritterhude won the competition for the Game Designer Scholarship of the Spiel des Jahres jury. Congratulations!
