Quantum computers explained in a board game
An exciting research project is starting under the leadership of TU Braunschweig in Germany. The "QUANTista" project team is developing a board game about quantum technologies to familiarise a wide audience with them. The project is being funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
In addition to the TU Braunschweig, the University of Stuttgart, the Institute of Ludology, the game author Uwe Rosenberg and the publisher Skellig Verlag are involved in the development and subsequent realisation. The project will run for three years. This promotion of science communication involving an analogue game is a remarkable novelty in the Federal Republic of Germany. It is to be hoped that the potential of analogue games as an educational medium will be exploited on a broader scale in future and that their use will be promoted in a sustainable manner.
